Imaging has developed techniques to monitor offshore currents
using feature tracking in IR or visible satellite imagery. This
example is from Svejkovsky et al. (Cont. Shelf Res., in press)
researching impact of nearshore current regimes on the geographical
distribution of sea urchin larva settlement.
